Dundonian Francis Boag, former head of art at Aberdeen Grammar School who now lives on the Ury Estate in Stonehaven, will showcase more than 30 pieces at Gallery Heinzel on Thistle Street from March 10 to April 21.
Noted for his characteristic subject matter, often the coastal landscape near his home town, his artworks also capture holiday memories of San Pedro, Positano and Val D’Isere, as well as a range of still life compositions and portraits. Francis’ vivid use of colour, skilled drawing and his regular use of mixed media, including scraps of old books, sheet music and even napkins, ensures his original paintings are unmistakeable.
