This is the moment Aberdeen police rescued a man from a city centre statue after he refused to climb down.
At least five police units, a fire engine and an ambulance were sent to try to recover the 34-year-old man who had climbed up on to the plinth of the Edward VII statue which sits on the corner of Union Street and Union Terrace.
Major disruption to the city centre followed as buses were cancelled and traffic and pedestrians were banned from entering most of the major streets.
