Seven drivers were arrested for drink- or drug-driving in the north-east over the May Day weekend.
Police say the individuals, which include a man who had £900 of illegal drugs seized, are all due to appear in court tomorrow.
The 34-year-old man was stopped on East Road, Elgin on Friday evening after officers received a call from a worried member of the public.
He was charged with allegedly driving under the influence of drugs and – following the search of a property in the town – for possession and supply of heroin and diazepam.
In the early hours of Saturday morning a 30-year-old man was found by officers, allegedly driving more than four times the legal alcohol limit on the A96 Bucksburn to Blackburn road.
Later that day a 28-year-old woman was accused of drink-driving in Orchard Road, Forres.
On Sunday morning a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly failing to provide a breath test in Hadden Street, Aberdeen.
Meanwhile a 41-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were alleged to have been driving over the limit on Westburn Road, Crombie Road and Stoneywood Road, respectively.
Sergeant Peter Henderson said: “It is highly disappointing that despite continued messages and enforcement we are still finding people driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“Three drivers have been kept in custody to appear at court and once through the system they could face a prison sentence.
“The other drivers will appear at court at a later date and if found guilty will face an automatic driving ban and could face a significant fine or custodial sentence.
