Aberdeen-based charity VSA, is seeking support from the public to help create a new mental health facility.

The organisation’s Changing Lives Ball will take place on November 2 at the Ardoe House Hotel with more than 350 people in attendance.

This year, guests are in for a glamorous evening when VSA transports them back to the ‘Golden Era of Hollywood.’

All money raised from the event will go towards the charity’s Changing Lives campaign, to create an ambitious purpose-built mental wellbeing facility in the heart of Aberdeen to support adults on their journey to recovery.

The initiative has already raised more than £2.3million and has made good progress in advancing towards its £3.2million target.

Now, the charity is urging any local businesses to donate prizes to the Changing Lives Ball to speed up the process.

Jennifer Mitchell, director of external relation at the charity said: “Every year we hold our highly anticipated ‘Changing Lives Ball’,  pivotal to the success of the evening is our raffle, silent and live auctions, whereby we have ‘money can’t buy’ experiences or items that encourage our guests to bid for the auction lots with the aim of raising substantial funds for the work that we do.

“We are always incredibly humbled by the support we receive from local businesses and individuals and we are asking people to step forward and help us by donating vouchers, hampers, bottles, or experiences that will aid our fundraising efforts.

“It is with thanks to the money raised we can continue to provide the best of care so that people can live the best of lives”.
