‘I saw this and thought of you’: Aberdeen stalker sent sex toy and lingerie to girl’s school

Michael Anderson sent an Ann Summers package to a teenage girl's school in Aberdeen.
Michael Anderson sent an Ann Summers package to a teenage girl's school in Aberdeen.

An Aberdeen stalker posted a parcel containing lingerie and a sex toy to a 16-year-old girl’s school in an attempt to woo her, a court has heard.

Michael Anderson, 57, appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted sending the Ann Summers items to the schoolgirl along with a note saying “saw this and thought of you”.

The box, which also contained lubricant and cleansing wipes, was opened by staff at the Aberdeen school and police were called.

Anderson, a plant machine operator, was traced after officers trawled through CCTV at an Aberdeen city centre post office and spotted him posting the parcel.

The court heard that the teenager had met Anderson when she was on a work placement.

Anderson pleaded guilty to stalking the schoolgirl by sending the parcel to her school.

Michael Anderson sent an Ann Summers package to a teenage girl’s school.

Fiscal depute Kiril Bonavino told the court that on November 15 last year the girl was in her last class of the day when her teacher made her aware that a package was waiting at the school reception.

When she got there she was handed a large brown parcel.

The teenager then opened the accompanying envelope, which read “I saw this and thought of you, Michael”.

The school receptionist then noticed a black box inside that had the name of lingerie and sex toy chain Ann Summers emblazoned on the side.

Mr Bonavino said: “The school receptionist then asked the girl to step outside the room and wait for the head teacher.

“The black box was opened away from the complainer and inside it was observed that there was a vibrator, cleansing wipes, lingerie and lubricant.

“The head teacher attended and observed the items and asked the complainer about them.

“The complainer was visibly upset and said the only person she knew who was called Michael was the accused.

“The mother of the complainer and the police were contacted.”

Sheriff tells accused he faces ‘serious charge’

Police then contacted Parcelforce who confirmed that the parcel had been sent from a post office within St Nicholas shopping centre in Aberdeen.

CCTV showed Anderson using the self-service counter to post it at around 3pm on November 12.

Officers then visited his home and placed him under caution.

Defence agent John McLeod elected not to make any comment on his client’s behalf and called for background reports to be carried out prior to sentencing.

Sheriff Edward Gilroy told Anderson he had admitted “a serious charge”.

He deferred sentence on Anderson, of Fraser Court, Aberdeen, in order for a criminal justice social work report, restriction of liberty assessment and risk assessment to be carried out.

Sheriff Gilroy also placed Anderson on the sex offender’s register.
