Fire crews have been scrambled to a blaze at a farm building near the A90 Aberdeen to Peterhead road at Balmedie.
Crews were alerted shortly before 4.30pm about a fire at Hill of Mennie farm, near Balmedie.
The fire was in a farm building and four appliances were sent to tackle it alongside a water carrier.
A witness said: “You could see it all the way from Aberdeen Beach, it was a massive plume of black smoke just hanging there.”
The stop message was received just before 6.30pm, however, crews did not leave the scene until around 8.30pm.
They remained at the farm to dampen down the area and make sure the building was safe.
