Emergency services were to the Beach Boulevard roundabout after a car took out a lamppost and drove into the bushes.

The vehicle is believed to have been driving down the A956 East North Street when it collided with the street light in the middle of the road at around 6.40pm on Monday.

Vehicles and pedestrians were diverted from the scene as live electricity cables were seen strewn across the street.

The lamppost can be seen to have been completely torn from the ground and hurled few feet away into the roundabout.
