A major search and rescue operation has been launched today in a north-east community.
Coastguard teams from Aberdeen and Aberdeen have been called to Cruden Bay in a bid to locate to a woman.
The teams were alerted just before 11.15am.
A helicopter rescue team has also been called as well as RNLI Peterhead to assist crews.
A coastguard spokesman said: “We received the initial call at 11.12am.
“We are currently assisting police in the search for a person in the Cruden Bay area.
“This is only the start of the operation.”
