An emergency helicopter landed in a north-east town this afternoon to assist with a medical emergency.
The coastguard service were asked by ambulance teams to clear a landing site ahead of their arrival in the Cairntrodlie area of Peterhead just after 11am.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “A male in his 40s has been taken by air ambulance to Glasgow’s Golden Jubilee Hospital in Clydebank.”
It is believed the man was taken to the central belt hospital for a transplant.
