Students at Robert Gordon University (RGU) are being encouraged to take part in a national fundraising event taking place next month.
The Jailbreak challenge challenges people to leave a designated spot with no money and get as far away from possible within 36 hours.
Money raised will go to homelessness charity Shelter.
The challenge begins on Wednesday, April 8 and RGU’s fundraising arm, Raising and Giving (RAG), is urging people to get involved.
Teams of two or three can sign with up with a sponsorship of £50 required to take part.
Niamh Healy, the chairwoman of RAG, said: “We are extremely excited to be organising a Jailbreak for RGU which is set to be our fundraising highlight of the year.
“We want to encourage as many students as possible to sign up to help raise vital funds for Shelter which supports millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness.”
The event has proved one of the highest earners for university charity fundraising across the UK, with students making it as far as Dubai, Australia and Africa.
When 36 hours have passed participants are tasked with taking a photo near a well-known landmark, so the organisers can establish who the winners are.
