A spate of vehicle crashes took place across busy Aberdeen roads yesterday morning.
Passengers managed to evade injury after a lorry and a bus collided on the city’s Baker Street at about 7.45am.
The lorry reversed into the rear section of a First Bus at the road’s junctions with Leadside Road, South Mount Street and Rosemount Viaduct.
A First Aberdeen spokesman said: “We can confirm one of our vehicles was involved in a collision in the Baker Street area this morning.
“The rear section of the bus was struck by a reversing goods vehicle which emerged from a side street as the bus proceeded normally.
“There are no reported injuries to passengers or staff. Passengers were transferred to the next available service. Both parties are now investigating the incident.”
Later in the day, a white Ford Transit van and brown Honda Jazz car crashed at North Anderson Drive’s junction with Provost Fraser Drive at about 9.20am.
Nobody was injured as a result of the collision, but one lane of the road was blocked southbound as the vehicles were recovered.
A police spokeswoman revealed that one of the vehicles had been “badly damaged”.
She added: “We got the call at 9.20am, it was two vehicles but there were no injuries. One vehicle was travelling southbound on North Anderson Drive and the other vehicle entered North Anderson Drive from Provost Fraser Drive.
“The collision was on the southbound lane of North Anderson Drive, which was blocked off.”
The impact of the collision left the Honda facing the opposite direction on the road, its bonnet and windscreen crumpled.
Only a few hours later, three vehicles collided on the A90 Aberdeen to Ellon road.
The incident took place outside the Gordon Barracks, in Bridge of Don, at 11.40am.
One motorist described the collision, which involved a white Renault van, silver Honda Jazz and red Audi A4 – as a “bad crash”.
However, nobody from the Scottish Ambulance Service was available for comment.
