A salon owner is offering free haircuts for a year to any witnesses who can help catch a thief who broke into her business.
Nicky MacDougall of Casa, in the small tight-knit Argyll village of Ardrishaig, said she was “sick to her stomach” after the incident.
She is looking for witnesses to help catch the culprit and has sent out a plea to motorists who may have been travelling along the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road at the time of the break-in to get in touch.
The businesswoman is hopeful that a dash camera from a passing vehicle may have picked something up which could help police trace the perpetrator.
She said: “I am just totally devastated. I’ve been fighting back tears for the last couple of weeks. This is a small place and people know that I am a hard-working, single mum.
“I have been saving up to take my kids to Disneyland and this has really set me back.”
In an appeal for information on social media, Miss MacDougall has written: “Looking for witnesses regarding the break-in last week at the salon.
“Was anyone spinning about Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig on Saturday May 13, between 9.30pm and 10pm that has a dash cam? Reward on offer is a year’s worth of free haircuts.”
She added that she could not offer a cash reward because she was missing money.
Miss MacDougall said: “The salon was broken into at 9.46pm. If anyone saw anything please contact Lochgilphead Police Station.”
A spokesman for Lochgilphead Police Station confirmed that they are investigating the report of a break-in at the premises.
