A motorcyclist was fined £600 at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting driving carelessly on a north road and exceeding speeds of 100mph.
Ian Hartshorne, 55, of Bankfoot near Perth, was unaware that police officers were trying to flag him down for five miles before he was stopped.
The incident took place on the A833 Kiltarlity to Milton road on July 29 last year.
Defence solicitor Marc Dickson said Hartshorne, a self employed joiner, said he was in control of his vehicle at all times but bitterly regretted his judgment. He said his client earns £600 a week in his job.
