The world-famous championship golf course at Royal Dornoch will host a new tournament this April in aid of British Red Cross.
The inaugural Northern Scotland Charity Golf Tournament will take place on April 17 with teams to visit from across the country in a bid to take home the title for the first time.
Chiefs at Royal Dornoch have kindly granted permission for their links course – which has recently been recognised as the best in the world – to be used for the event.
Entry is currently open, however, has been capped to 19 teams as organisers encourage early entry to avoid disappointment.
The event coincides with the celebrations for the British Red Cross’ 150th year in operation.
Prizes due to be handed out on the day shall be for the winning teams, the straightest drive and the closest to the pin for both ladies and gentleman taking part.
Just last week, expert judges at golfscape (correct) ranked the course as top of the list for the best courses for 2020.
Neil Hampton, general manager of the club, celebrated the achievement saying: “This is a fantastic achievement and a great tribute to everyone at the club who works hard to make our historic course a must-play venue for today’s golfers.
“The quality of the course and our history, including our links to Old Tom Morris and Donald Ross, is a winning combination.”
