A 25-year-old has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a man in an alleged hit-and-run.
Robert Brown appeared in private at Oban Sheriff Court yesterday to face three driving charges.
It comes after Jimmy Harris was found critically injured at the side of the A85 Oban to Crianlarich road, at Kirkton, near Taynuilt, on October 10 last year.
The 61-year-old, from Taynuilt, died at the scene, and police launched a major investigation – closing off the road for nearly 40 hours.
Brown, of North Lanarkshire, is accused of death by dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to report an accident.
He made no plea or declaration during the brief private hearing and was released on bail.
The case was continued for further examination.
