Surfacing improvements on the A82 are set to begin on Sunday as part of a £4 million project.
The works near Fort William will take place in three phases and is expected to be complete by March 3.
During phase one, a full road closure will be in place to ensure roadworkers as well as motorists are kept safe during the overnight resurfacing works.
This will take place from Nevis Bridge Roundabout to Inverlochy Roundabout from 9am until 6pm.
Phase two will commence on Monday for five days between Morbaine Roundabout to Lochy Bridge Roundabout from 7pm and 7am. The road will remain open, however the overnight resurfacing works will take place under a 10mph convoy system for safety.
The final part of the works will commence on Monday, February 26 for five days from Lochy Bridge Roundabout to Torlundy., with the road remaining open during this time.
Commenting on the repairs, Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These resurfacing works have been designed to replace the road surface which had deteriorated badly following particularly harsh cold and wet winter weather this year.
“This winter has brought frequent heavy rain followed by sub-zero temperatures across our network of roads causing unprecedented damage to occur.”
These improvements are part of a £4m programme of urgent surfacing repairs across over 60 locations on trunk roads in the North West of Scotland after adverse winter weather has affected sections of the road surface.
