Police are attending a serious road traffic collision in the Highlands involving a bus, with a number of casualties so far reported.
It occurred on the B9161 at the Littlemill Bridge south-east of Munlochy shortly before 5.45pm with five fire crews, police and ambulance personnel in attendance.
One casualty has been cut free from the vehicle, with a further five others said to have sustained injuries.
The road is currently blocked in both directions as emergency services attend to those involved. A diversion is in place via Tore.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 5.44pm on Friday, January 11 to assist emergency service partners with a bus that had left the road in Inverness.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire engines and a Heavy Rescue Unit to the B9161 Munlochy where firefighters safely removed one casualty who was trapped from the bus.
“The casualty was passed into the care of The Scottish Ambulance Service for treatment.
“Five other casualties were also assisted from the bus.
“Crews remain in attendance.”
Police Scotland has appealed for witnesses to come forward by calling 101.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland officers are currently dealing with a road traffic accident on the B9161 at Littlemill Bridge south-east of Munlochy. A bus has collided with a bridge and is currently on its side. There are a number of casualties and the road is blocked in both directions.
“The public are advised to avoid the area and take an alternative route.”
