Highlanders encouraged to take on ‘once in a lifetime’ experience in aid of The Archie Foundation

More than £35,000 was raised during The Archie Foundation's previous trek of the Great Wall of China in 2018

Highlanders are being encouraged to take part in a “once in a lifetime” experience to one of the seven wonders of the world – all in aid of a charity which supports local sick children.

The Archie Foundation is putting the finishing touches on its second expedition to the Great Wall of China following the success of its 2018 trip where over £35,000 was raised.

The Archie Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH), Tayside Children’s Hospital (Ninewells Hospital, Dundee) and the Highland Children’s Unit (Raigmore Hospital, Inverness), and supports many of the UK’s most remote communities, the charity funds extras over and above what the NHS provides to transform the experience of being in hospital for local children

Participants will depart on May 8 2020 on a six-day tour of the ancient monument, beginning at the Huangyaguan section of the wall before heading towards Beijing.

The trip costs £299pp which includes return flights from Aberdeen, meals and drinking water on the trek, plus accommodation and tours in and around Beijing.
