Highland police officers will be carrying out drink driving patrols and checks during the festive period.
A recent exercise in Inverness led to 75 drivers being stopped with no offences detected.
A police spokesman said: “We will be carrying out drink driving patrols and checks throughout the festive period.
“Law-abiding motorists have nothing to fear from these checks, but drink driving will not be tolerated.
“Keep in mind that you may still be over the limit the next morning.”
