A Ross-shire dental practice has raised £10,000 for a Highland charity to mark their fifth anniversary.
Tain Dental Care opened its doors in 2015 within the local health centre.
Ahead their milestone anniversary in July, staff at the practice pledged to raise £5000 in aid of the Highland Hospice, in memory of a “well-loved” colleague who passed away last year following a battle with cancer.
Through a number of fundraising schemes, the team smashed their initial £5,000 target by July, spurring them on to reach higher and raise a further £5000 for the cause.
Principal dentist Edward Bateman, said: “The Highland Hospice was a natural choice for a fundraiser for us. A well-loved colleague from the Health Centre passed away at the end of last year from cancer, and the work the Hospice do for patients and their loved ones has been incredibly important to many of our staff, patients and friends over the years.
“We decided to raise £5000 for them over the course of 2019. We had great fun pulling together and taking part in many crazy challenges to get there over the year, and were absolutely delighted to double our target in that time.“
During a visit to the city facility, staff had tea and cakes with residents and staff before being given a tour of the Ness House facility.
Andrew Leaver, head of fundraising and development for the Highland Hospice said: “We were delighted when Tain Dental Practice approached us to do some fundraising. It’s a really special way to both celebrate their anniversary and support a charity that is close to their hearts. When they smashed their target early and stepped up to pay for two days of Inpatient Care we were blown away.
“A huge thanks to Tain Dental Practice for their support.”
