Police in Wick are appealing for information after the attempted theft of two cars.
The vehicles were targeted on the town’s Murchinson Street and Harrow Hill on Sunday night.
It’s thought they were both broken-into at about 11pm and police believe the same individual or individuals may be responsible.
Entry was gained to both of the cars and there are signs that each was tampered in an attempt to move them.
The vehicles were not, however, stolen and it appears efforts to move the cars were unsuccessful.
Officers are looking into the incidents and urging vehicle owners to take extra care to ensure they are secure.
Sergeant Alastair Bryce of Wick Police Station said: “We are carrying out inquiries into these incidents, which we are treating as linked.
“We would urge anyone with information or who may have seen any suspicious activity to come forward.
“We would also encourage people to make sure that their vehicles are securely locked when unattended.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
