A Moray artist will lead a drawing session with pensioners to help improve their concentration and coordination.
The Royal Voluntary Service and Prudential have teamed up to run sessions for older members of communities to try new activities.
Artist Donald Jack will lead the next class in Elgin following events that have showcased fencing and table tennis opportunities.
Participants will be taught basic drawing techniques at Linkwood View in a session that has been designed for beginners.
Mr Jack said: “Whilst drawing is good for people of all ages, it’s particularly helpful for older people to help improve skills like concentration and fine co-ordination.
“It also keeps the brain active which helps with cognitive function and helps unlock creativity. It’s fun and sociable too.”
The free class will take place on Wednesday, June 26 at Linkwood View on Thornhill Drive in Elgin at 2pm. Places can be booked by calling activity coordinator Ian Menzies on 07342 052420 or people can turn up on the day.
Refreshments will be served during the afternoon and information will also be provided about other Royal Voluntary Service activities run in the area.
