Three life-saving defibrillators have been installed in a Moray town following a funding boost.

Charity Defibs for Moray received a £4,000 donation from the Tesco branch in Keith to help raise funds for new equipment.

The money has been used to fund three defibrillators for the town’s community council, which have since been installed at strategic points in the community where they can be accessed at all times of day.

The locations include the NFU offices on Land Street, outside the Keith Show office at Seafield Park and at Keith Motorist DIY on Mid Street in the town centre to add to others already in place following the work of other groups.

Callum Stuart, a member of Keith Community Council, said: “Defibs for Moray had got the money from Tesco and got in touch with us to try and find places to put them in the town.

“We got a big map out and really looked at how best to spread them out to as many places as possible while finding businesses who are happy to have them on the wall outside.

“We hope it will be good reassurance for people to know they’re there. Obviously we hope they will never have to be used but they are there for people to get access to if they need to be.”
