Rush hour commuters are facing delays as both vehicles are yet to be cleared from the busy route.
A road has been blocked in Elgin following a two-car crash in the north of the town.
A dark green Fiat Punto collided with a dark blue Ford Focus at the junction beside the Buccaneer petrol station on the A941 road to Lossiemouth, just before 5pm.
Rush hour commuters are facing delays as both vehicles are yet to be cleared from the busy route.
Though the cars have incurred serious damage, it is understood that nobody was badly wounded in the crash.
A police spokesman confirmed that officers were on hand.
He added: “We have officers there, along with ambulance crews.
“There are no serious injuries, but the parties involved are being checked out.
“We are at the scene managing traffic and I can advise that delays should not last too long.”
