Murder investigation launched after body found in Fraserburgh property

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was discovered in Fraserburgh in the early hours of this morning.

Police close north-east street as they deal with on-going incident

The body of Gary Clampett, aged 39, was discovered in a property on the street.

Paramedics were in attendance but were unable to resuscitate the man.

Police have confirmed his death is being treated as a murder.

Detective Inspector Gary Winter, who is leading the investigation, said: “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder of Gary Clampett is underway.

“Our thoughts are with Gary’s family and friends.

“Police will remain in the area while our inquiries are ongoing.

“We are following a number of lines of inquiry.

He added: “I would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this incident or private CCTV in the area of Fernie Place, Fraserburgh, to please come forward.
