With the Liberal Democrats whimpering along in the polls, today’s biggest focus will be on the party’s manifesto launch and whether it can entice voters to back Tim Farron’s vision.

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader, Willie Rennie, has claimed the expansion of free early learning and childcare is being damaged by the SNP’s obsession with independence.

His warning came during a visit to Banbury Cross Nursery in the Gordon constituency to highlight the Scottish Government’s commitment to double free early learning and childcare by 2020.

Scottish Labour leader targets pro-Remain, pro-Union voters

The Scottish Labour leader will use a major campaign speech to appeal to voters in Scotland who backed remaining in the EU and the UK.

Speaking in Glasgow, Kezia Dugdale will say these voters are a “majority for change” and are not served by either the SNP or the Conservatives.

Jo Cox widower to meet Scots leaders to mark anniversary of her death

The widower of murdered MP Jo Cox will meet with Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and representatives of all the main parties during a visit to Holyrood later today.

Brendan Cox said he is “amazed and humbled” by the support people have shown for the UK-wide community event he is planning to mark the anniversary of Mrs Cox’s death.

MSP taken to hospital after letter box bites back on campaign trail

An MSP had to receive hospital treatment after having his finger injured by a letter box while campaigning in Moray.

Richard Lochhead was delivering leaflets for the forthcoming general election in Dufftown when the flap snapped shut, trapping a finger on his right hand.
