Another case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the Highlands.
Latest figures released by the Scottish Government show there are now 13 cases in the north while Grampian and Shetland have no newly reported cases. Their total sits at 24.
In the past 24 hours, two more people have died after testing positive, Nicola Sturgeon announced, while the country’s total has risen by 85 to 584.
On Monday the First Minister made clear the guidance given to try and stall the spread of the virus is not optional.
“It should be treated as a set of rules,” she said.
The UK was put into lockdown last night and people are urged to limit trips outside to essential shopping and medical supplies, for exercise once a day and if you care for a vulnerable person.
The First Minister said today she is confident the “vast majority” of people are sticking to the ‘lockdown’ restrictions.
