Broch must beware of Rothes

Rothes will host Fraserburgh on December 26.

Fraserburgh manager James Duthie has put his players on alert for tonight’s Press and Journal Highland League match against managerless Rothes at Mackessack Park.

Broch drew 2-2 against title contenders Cove Rangers in their last match but have struggled in the past against the Speysiders, who sacked manager Fraser Bremner on Wednesday.

Duthie said: “A lot of teams have found it tricky against a much-improved Rothes, especially on their home ground. Rothes have already won five games this term, so we won’t be taking anything for granted.”

Keith will have new loan-signing Buckie Thistle goalkeeper Ross Salmon in action against Forres Mechanics tonight, while regular Maroons number one Daniel Bell has gone the other way and could start against Cove at Victoria Park tomorrow.

Midfielder Scott Whelan, reserve goalkeeper David Dey and Fraser Hall all miss out due to work commitments, while fellow defender Ryan Spink has a knee injury.

The Can-Cans welcome back midfielder Craig McGovern who missed last Saturday’s 3-2 home win against Buckie as he was attending a wedding. Full back Graham Fraser and midfielder Kyle Scott are both out.

Lossiemouth will be without Shawn Scott and midfielder Martin Mc-Mullan for tonight’s Grant Park match against league leaders Brora Rangers.

Brora caretaker-manager Steven MacDonald, said: “Lossie is always a hard place to go. Charlie Charlesworth’s teams are hard-working and well-organised, so it is going to be a difficult game. We have a fully-fit squad.”

Elsewhere, Clach host Fort William at Grant Street Park. The Lilywhites will look to build on last week’s 4-1 win at Strathspey but Fort will be buoyed after their 1-1 draw against Formartine.

Fort defender Richard Tawse misses out due to work commitments.
