Ross County were unable to hold out with 10 men as Livingston recorded a 1-0 triumph over the Staggies.

County had Carl Tremarco dismissed on 51 minutes when the sides were level, leaving the Dingwall men to play out the majority of the second half a man down.

Livi took full advantage with Jon Guthrie’s header midway through the second half giving the West Lothian outfit their first win of the season to take them off the bottom of the table.

Although County are now without a win in four games, Stuart Kettlewell’s men remain third in the Premiership.

County made two changes from the side which struck back to secure a 1-1 draw with St Mirren the previous weekend, with Keith Watson and Carl Tremarco brought in to replace Harry Paton and Josh Reid.

Livi went into the game without a victory to their name yet this term, however the Staggies survived a let-off after just eight minutes when Scott Pittman was picked out at the far post by Nicky Devlin, but the midfielder somehow scooped over from point blank range.

There was precious little goalmouth activity until the end of the first half, with Livi once again unfortunate not to take the lead on 43 minutes when debutant Lars Lokotsch saw a header from Alan Forrest’s cross clip the crossbar on its way over.

Billy Mckay had two fine opportunities to give County the lead before the interval, with his first effort coming when he nodded over after Ross Stewart had nodded Tremarco’s delivery across goal.

Mckay had an even better chance when he got on the end of Iain Vigurs’ corner, however he flashed his header wide of the far post.

County’s task was made more difficult on 51 minutes when Tremarco was shown a second yellow card for tripping Devlin as he strode down the inside right channel, with Stuart Kettlewell quickly readjusting by bringing on Josh Reid and Josh Mullin for Billy Mckay and Connor Randall.

As County had done the previous week against 10-man Saints, Livingston capitalised on the numerical advantage as they broke the deadlock on 65 minutes. A short corner was worked to Julien Serrano who floated in a deep delivery, which was guided into the bottom corner by the head of Guthrie.

The home side looked comfortable in their lead, with Gary Holt’s men holding out for a valuable three points.
