Father and son Ian and Cameron MacIntosh have launched Adaptive Insights.

Aberdeen-based businessman Ian MacIntosh and his son Cameron have teamed up to launch new specialist digital analytics marketing agency Adaptive Insights.

The duo said they hoped to offer a fresh approach to search engine optimisation (SEO) and web improvement services.

Bringing 14 years of experience in digital marketing with him, Ian will work side-by-side with Cameron, 24, an accountant with extensive experience in data analytics.

The firm opened last month with two members of staff, a content specialist and lead UX designer, already being recruited with plans underway to further grow the business.

Use experience to benefit customers

Ian, who is also director of CFN Solutions, a telecommunications specialist, said: “I speak to lots of organisations about a broad range of marketing issues, and one thing that has always stood out to me is how confusing SEO is for business owners and managers.

“Many have no clear understanding about the service they are receiving, yet they continue to pay without any objectives being monitored or reviewed and with no reporting or justification to continue.

“While I have the background in SEO, by bringing Cameron into the mix with his ability to delve deeper into search analytics, we will be able to gain a greater understanding of what is working and why, allowing us to secure better results in terms of search ranking and to produce clear and concise reports for our customers.”

Cost-effective service for clients

The pair have spent six months optimising their service delivery and developing an innovative and user-friendly client portal which allows users to review work that has been completed and view what is pending in the coming weeks.

Simple reports will document these activities in an easy-to-understand manner and will highlight both successes and failures allowing for complete transparency and providing a base from which to implement improvements.

The tool also logs the time spent on tasks, which will be analysed and used to deliver increasingly cost-effective services in future by maximising each client’s digital presence in the most efficient way.

Ian, 46, added: “Adaptive Insights will bring an end to the mystery that surrounds SEO and that’s been really well received by customers.

“Working with Cameron is an added bonus and I’m delighted that we’re in a position to combine our individual skillsets into a business which will offer tangible results to those companies who put their trust in us.”

A number of new clients have already been secured and Adaptive Insights has moved into premises within the Skene Business Centre on Rosemount Viaduct.
