Pilgrim progress at North Dee quarter

Pilgrim House
Pilgrim House

The growing reputation of part of Aberdeen now known as the North Dee Business Quarter has been further strengthened with the completion of Pilgrim House.

It is expected to provide vital supply to the city centre office market.

Pilgrim House, off North Esplanade West, is a five-storey building of Grade A office accommodation totalling 27,000 square feet of floor space.

With the third and fourth floors already pre-let to the Food Standards Agency, the remaining 13,805sq ft is now available for lease.

The building, with a distinctive and prominent glass frontage, offers flexible open-plan offices and much sought-after parking provision.

Developed by Miller Cromdale, the company behind the neighbouring GDF Suez headquarters, Pilgrim House is seen as key to the riverside area’s ongoing transformation.

The location benefits from a range of amenities in the Union Square shopping centre as well as good road and rail links.

Knight Frank and Young and Co are the joint letting agents for Pilgrim House.

Katherine Monro, a partner in the Aberdeen office of Knight Frank, and Derek Young of Young and Co say it represents one of the few immediately available Grade A offices in the city.

They also expect the location to be a major attraction, particularly given its proximity to the train and bus stations.

Ms Monro said: “From a staff recruitment and retention perspective, we are increasingly finding that transport links are high on the agenda.”

Miller Cromdale development manager Neil Finnie said: “The Food Standards Agency’s commitment to Pilgrim House is an endorsement of the development.

“We’re confident the remaining space will prove attractive.

“Our experience in the office market, particularly in Aberdeen, ensures the design and specification of the building has been tailored appropriately, and we’re delighted to have completed a high quality development at the heart of the city.”

The specification for Pilgrim House includes full Disability Discrimination Act compliance, an “excellent” Building Research Establishment environmental assessment methodology scheme rating and a reception serving all floors.
