Invited guests toast their good fortune at getting a seat at Hou Hou Mei on Thursday night.

Last night, a few lucky guests were invited to a sneak preview of the latest restaurant to hit Inverness, Hou Hou Mei, ahead of its official launch this Friday.

JP and Karen Saint have brought years of experience working in some of the UK’s most-renowned fine-dining kitchens to their Asian-style venture.

For the past few months they have been working hard to realise their dream of bringing quality food to Inverness at an affordable price.

Last night’s event capped off a flurry of activity to get the restaurant ready on time, and was a chance for JP and Karen to enjoy themselves with friends and family.

Hou Hou Mei officially opens today (Friday July 1), but the first weekend is already fully booked.

Speaking to the Press & Journal ahead of the opening Karen said she was delighted that the restaurant has attracted a lot of attention already.

“There’s quite a big buzz for it,” she said.

That buzz looks set to continue as Hou Hou Mei finally opens its doors.
