A young sex offender was found pleasuring himself behind a bush in Aberdeenshire as he watched a teenage dog walker.
Around a year ago, Ronald Wink was spared a custodial sentence after he admitted stalking north-east paper girls.
Between the ages of 14 and 17, the repeat offender stalked three secondary school girls while they carried out their daily paper rounds in the Garioch area of Aberdeenshire.
He would regularly creep around behind them, from behind bushes and walls.
And when the girls or their parents tried to approach or speak to him, he would run away.
At the time of sentencing, Sheriff Annella Cowan criticised the Crown for bringing the case against Wink on indictment after it emerged he suffered from severe learning difficulties.
She said his behaviour should not have been seen as deviant, given the similar ages of Wink and the complainers.
She added she had “grave concerns” about the case and how she could appropriately dispose of it, given the young man struggled to understand why his behaviour was even wrong.
Sheriff Cowan placed Wink, of Inverurie, under supervision of the social work department for three years and ordered him to comply with and accept any medical help he was offered.
But yesterday, the 19-year-old was back in the dock after being found hiding behind bushes while he was following a young girl.
Fiscal depute Colin Neilson said he had been spotted in the plants pleasuring himself.
He added that, when he was asked what he was doing there, Wink replied “nothing” and crept back into the shrubbery.
Mr Nelson said Wink was then seen to follow a girl who was walking her dog. Due to the time of night, the girl was carrying a torch and, when she turned round, she was able to shine the light on Wink’s face.
The court heard the girl felt she was being followed, so she quickened her pace before contacting the police when she got home.
Wink admitted committing the sexually motivated breach of the peace when he appeared from custody yesterday.
Sheriff Christine McCrossan deferred sentence on Wink for background reports to be carried out.
He will return to court next year.
