A 23-year-old woman suffered “serious and life-threatening injuries” after being knocked down by a car yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Great Northern Road at around 6.30am after the alarm was raised by an off-duty police officer.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene and transported the pedestrian to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Road policing inspector Steve Manson said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and who hasn’t already spoken to police to come forward.
“I am particularly keen for the occupants of a Silver Audi TT and a White Vauxhall Corsa, who appeared to stop after the collision, to come forward.
“They may have information that could help us with our enquiries.”
Inspector Manson thanked drivers in the area for their patience and revealed the car that hit the pedestrian had been a red Ford Focus.

As a result of diversions in the area, the morning school run was affected after parents were told the drop-off point at Kittybrewster School in Great Northern Road would be closed.
A mother who had taken her two children to school shortly before 8.30am said she had feared the crash had involved a child.
She said: “Given the proximity to the school, I worried that it was a child who ran across the road and been hit.
“The kids were quite spooked seeing all the police cars.”
The road re-opened yesterday afternoon.
As police conducted inquires yesterday, officers closed the road between the Great Northern Hotel and Clifton Road.
Access to Lilybank Place and Burnett Place was also restricted.
The incident caused travel chaos during rush hour as cars, buses and lorries were diverted down Clifton Road.
Motorists were advised by police to avoid the area, but many drivers were stuck in queues before getting the message.
Andrew McMillan, who was driving from Bridge of Don to the city centre for work, said “a lot of commuters” would likely be running late.

He said he had become stuck in traffic on Clifton Road.
“It’s a tight road with cars parked on either side and the bigger vehicles that have been diverted seem to be taking up all the space and blocking the road.”
Kirsty Blackman MP took to social media to say her thoughts were with the injured woman.
