A Peterhead man was more than four times over the drink-drive limit when he crashed into a parked car on Christmas Day.
James Pirie was found behind the wheel of his Volkswagen Golf after the collision on the town’s Kinmundy Road at around 7.30pm.

While no-one was hurt, there was “extensive” damage to both vehicles.
As the 30-year-old had been drinking, he was unable to recall how he initially ended up in the car.
It was theorised that he had initially entered the vehicle to find a spare pair of glasses, but his solicitor told Aberdeen Sheriff Court he “doesn’t recall any of the particular details.”
Following the crash, the logistics team leader was breathalysed and police found he had 119 micrograms of alcohol in his system per 100ml of breath – much higher than the 22mg Scottish limit.
Because of the “extremely high reading” Sheriff Ian Wallace disqualified Pirie, of Bruce Crescent, Peterhead, for 16 months.
He was also fined £800.
