A further 20 new homes will be built by a Fife-based developer in Peterhead.
Aberdeenshire Council has awarded a £2.7 million contract to Muir Homes for the next phase of the Sovereign Gate project.
It will involve the construction of eight one-bedroom flats, together with eight three-bedroom and four four-bedroom houses as part of the developer’s affordable housing obligation.
The Inverkeithing-based contractor is providing the local authority with 20 units for social housing within its wider 200-plus home development.
The £2,744,115 contract includes both the acquisition of the land and the building of the social housing.
Work on the Sovereign Gate development at West Road began in 2016.
