An iconic Aberdeen bar has been transformed for BBC drama Granite Harbour on the last day of filming.

For the past week, filming crews have been working across various Aberdeen locations for the TV series.

Today – on the last day of filming in the Granite City – they were at the Fittie Bar.

The bar on Wellington Street was transformed to blend in with the show’s gritty aesthetic.

The bar was renamed The Bodach Stone and the recognisable dark green sign that usually adorns the entrance changed for filming.

There were also road signs that alerted passers-by and motorists to filming taking place in the area.

Where else will feature?

Granite Harbour is a three-part series centred on the story of Lance Corporal Davis Lindo, who arrives in Aberdeen as a new recruit to Police Scotland.

The DC – played by Romario Simpson – is put on a murder case involving a well-known oil figure, and paired with mentor DCI Tara “Bart” Bartlett, played by Dundee-born Hannah Donaldson.

Scenes have been shot at the Castlegate, where actors and extras could be seen staging a protest with brightly-coloured green banners.

Other filming locations include Marischal College, Marischal Square, down by the seafront and Windmill Brae.

Other Scottish talent includes Dawn Steele, Gary Lewis and Fiona Bell.

Speaking about the new series Louise Thornton, head of commissioning at BBC Scotland, said: “Audiences will be treated to an intriguing and captivating story with strong characters that will play out against the dramatic cityscape of Aberdeen and the north-east.

“We are delighted to be working with our colleagues in BBC iPlayer to bring high-quality content-based in Scotland to audiences across the UK as part of our co-commissioning strategy.”
