A woman has been charged after a man was seriously injured in a north-east town.
The 59-year-old was arrested in connection with an assault at Brimmond Crescent in Westhill on June 14.
Police and ambulance crews were called to a property following reports of a domestic disturbance around 8pm.
The force originally said a “fairly serious assault” had taken place at the house.
Officers spent several days investigating the incident, which left both a man and a woman being injured.
The house was cordoned-off with tape and a patrol car was parked outside.
Neighbours said six police cars, two ambulances and forensic teams were on the scene on the night of the incident.
Police said yesterday that the woman charged in connection with the incident was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
But last night the Crown Office could not confirm whether the case had been heard.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 59-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault in the Brimmond Crescent area of Westhill on June 14, 2016.
“She is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.”
The nature and extent of the pair’s injuries are still not known.
At the time of the incident residents said they were surprised by the heavy police presence on the quiet street.
A local man who lives near the home said: “We came home to see that the road was blocked off, there were at least three or four police cars and it was all cordoned-off. Nobody knows what has happened.”
A woman who lives nearby said: “There were six police cars and two ambulances. The first came at 8pm. It is just one of those weird things, we are all quite friendly with each other here.”
