Police are continuing to search for a missing hillwalker who was last seen in the Glencoe area.

39-year-old Edward Davies, from Hampshire, was last seen on Sunday, May 8, and police are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety.

The Press and Journal previously reported how a helicopter crew and police dogs are assisting in the hunt for the hillwalker in the Sgurr na h-Ulaidh mountain area.

Extensive searching continued over the weekend, bringing together members of Glencoe, Oban, Lochaber and RAF Mountain Rescue Teams.

Officers are now renewing the appeal for anyone walking or climbing in the area to report anything that may assist the search effort.

He is described as white, 5ft 11in, slim, and has cropped dark brown hair which is longer on top. He is likely to be wearing a blue waterproof jacket.

Sergeant Andy Bilton of the Highland and Islands Police Division said: “As each day passes Edward’s family and all those involved in the search become increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“Edward is an experienced hillwalker and is likely to be well equipped for the outdoors.

“We urge anyone planning to walk in the Glencoe area to be mindful of the search activity and report anything that could help us locate Edward.

“Our search and rescue partners are thanked for their assistance to date and going forward.”
