A motorcyclist has died in hospital more than a week after being involved in a road accident in the Highlands.

Richard Findon, from Aberdeen, was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Discovery on A95 at Cromdale on Saturday, March 25.

The 36-year-old was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where doctors carried out several operations in an attempt to save his life.

However, he died on Wednesday.

News of his death came on the day of two Loch Ness-side crashes.

Mr Findon, who grew-up and lived in the Bucksburn area of Aberdeen, worked as a hydraulic technician at subsea specialists Raisepower.

Nicola Wilson, one of the firm’s directors paid tribute to an “extremely talented” employee.

She added: “All of Richard’s co-workers at Raisepower are very shocked and saddened with the news.

“We have not only lost a great asset to our company but also a great friend.

“Richard was an extremely talented hydraulic technician – one of the first to join us in our journey and has played a key role in growing the business.

“We will always hold Rick in our hearts and memories and our team will think of all the good times we had together to get through this difficult time.

“Our thoughts are with Richards family and we will continue to support them in any way we can.”

Mr Findon is survived by his mother and brother, who also works for Raisepower.
