Thurso residents will have a chance to see Highland Council’s proposals for flood prevention measures along the River Thurso at a public exhibition later this month.
The exhibition is on Tuesday January 22 from 2pm – 7pm at the Pentland Hotel ballroom, Princess Street, Thurso.
It will present an update of the flood protection study currently being undertaken by the council and outline early stage options being considered to mitigate the risk of future flooding in Thurso.
Staff from the council’s flood risk management team and consultants AECOM will be at the exhibition to discuss the measures, answer any questions and gather feedback about the various proposals.
Local councillors want as many people as possible to come along.
They said: “This is a good opportunity for folk to come along to view the work done so far and to see how the flood protection study is progressing.
“Feedback from the public, interested stakeholders, landowners, residents and businesses is a vital part of pulling together a flood study as it will help the council to determine which of the possible measures are preferred by the community.”
For anyone unable to attend the exhibition the information on display will be made available on the council’s website along with a feedback form.
