An Aviemore family has gone on a caravanning break in their front garden to help health workers during the coronavirus lockdown.
The Sandersons joined other campers in taking part in the Big NHS Scottish Campout to raise funds over the Easter weekend for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance(SCAA).
People taking part were told to camp inside or outside their homes and will donate fees normally spent on campsites to the cause.
Jennifer, husband Grant and children Maya, Jake and Josh were last night spending their third night in their caravan parked outside their home.
Mrs Sanderson said: “It’s been really good. We wanted to find something new for the kids to do. It feels like you’re away, but the house is right behind us.”
The camp-out was organised by the Real Scottish Campers, a group with more than 5,000 members .
By yesterday, £1,598 had been raised for the ambulance and £2,142 for the hospital by families across Scotland.
The group plans other events to raise money for other areas in future.
