Belladrum’s 2020 festival has been officially cancelled, organisers have announced.

A statement published at 1pm today said: “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we must confirm that Belladrum has been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“The health and safety of our Belladrum family, staff, suppliers and local community is our number one priority.

“We are wholly aware of the role Belladrum has to play in the much bigger picture of the pandemic and its effect on our local community, emergency services and country.

“Whilst we are absolutely devastated to not be able to go ahead this year, we have to look forward to safer times in 2021.”

All ticket holders will be given the option to transfer their tickets to next year’s event.

Anyone who doesn’t want to do that will be given a full refund.

The festival will return on July 29, 30 and 31 in 2021.

Emeli Sande, Shed Seven and the Magic Numbers were among the acts that had already been announced for 2020.

Belladrum has been held every summer in the Highlands since it started in 2004 and has sold out in advance in every year since 2008.
