A CCTV image has been released of a man after a conductor was assaulted while aboard a Highland train.
British Transport Police (BTP) is investigating the incident which happened on a train in Ross-shire last month.
The 32-year-old male conductor was attacked on a train travelling south between Dingwall and Conon Bridge on Friday, April 1.
The incident occurred around 8.20pm on the 7.28pm Ardgay to Inverness service.
Transport police officers have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe “may have information” which could help with their investigation.
The man pictured left the train at Conon Bridge station.
He is described as being of slim build and about 5ft 8in tall with short light brown hair, and is thought to be between 25 and 30-years-old, and spoke with a local accent.
In the CCTV image the man is seen wearing a green jacket and had a cigarette in his mouth.
Constable Matt O’Neill, the BTP officer in charge of the inquiry into the incident, is appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the photograph to contact the force.
