
A hill walker had to be rescued by a search and rescue helicopter after being injured on the Cuillin Ridge in Skye.
The coastguard helicopter from Stornoway was tasked to the famed mountain range after the alarm was raised at around 1.55pm.
The stricken man taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
A police spokesman said: “The 51-year-old was out on the hills with family members.
“He had head and leg injuries but was conscious and breathing.”
