Police were called to a property in Portknockie’s Victoria Street at around 3.20pm. They sealed off half the street and remain at the scene. A 41-year-old man has been detained in relation to the serious assault and the 45-year-old woman was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin. A police spokesman said her injuries were serious but not life-threatening. He added: “This was a contained and isolated incident and there was no risk to the local community at any point during this incident. “Inquiries are at an early stage and there will be a notable police presence in the area for the time being. “The local community are thanked for their patience during this time.” Police are at the scene in Victoria Street
