Circus for babies event comes to Forres

Little Top comes to Forres this weekend.
Little Top comes to Forres this weekend.

Professional circus performers will execute spectacular balances, tumbles and juggling for a special audience of babies and young children in Forres this weekend.

They will be performing their usual tricks up close in babies’ line of sight, making eye contact, interacting and responding to their young audience.

The show is called Little Top and is the brainchild of award-winning circus artist Ellie Dubois and early years artist Kim Donohoe.

Together, they are focused on creating on creating a unique first circus experience for babies in the first 18 months of their lives.

Little Top’s cast and crew include former elite gymnast Gabbie Cook, acrobat Nat Whittingham and juggling artist Arron Sparks.

Ms Dubois said: “I am passionate about circus and I want to push the boundaries of what it can be, where it can exist and what it tells us about the world.

“When I mention circus to people, their eyes light up, but traditionally it’s something an audience experiences from far away as part of a large crowd.

“We are creating a real circus in miniature. The set, the acrobatics, the colour and the magic will simply be distilled down into a much smaller, comfy and welcoming space.”

Although promoted by the Universal Hall team, the show will be staged at Forres Town Hall on Sunday May 19 at 2pm.

Tickets priced at £7/£6 concessions/£5 baby are available in person at the Phoenix Stores in Findhorn and online via www.universalhall.co.uk
