The Cardhu Distillery in Speyside will reopen its doors to visitors on Monday with new measures to keep people safe from coronavirus.

The venue, near Aberlour, is one of  whisky giant Diageo’s network of 12 distilleries across Scotland that are gradually re-opening having been closed for more than four months.

Cardhu is  putting in measures including mandatory temperature checks for all visitors, limiting the number of people on site, adding screens in all retail units, ensuring physical distancing is observed, increasing cleaning procedures and installing plenty of hand sanitiser stations.

Cardhu’s Laura Sharp said she was looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the Speyside distillery as the move was announced yesterday.

She added: “We are pleased that the time has finally come to reopen our doors so visitors can discover the magic behind how we create our amazing single malt.

“We’ve been working extremely hard over the past few months to ensure both the distillery and retail space are as welcoming and safe as possible and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests from the local Speyside community who are keen to get out and about to discover what’s on their own doorstep.”
