Health bosses in Moray have formed a partnership with a care company to support a new housing complex.
Loxa Court in Elgin, which is expected to open in the autumn, will have 30 properties, which will predominantly be used for the over-60s – with five designed for wheelchair users and a further five for those with dementia.
Health and Social Care Moray has been working on the project, which is on the site of the former Spynie Hospital, with housing association Hanover Scotland.
It has been confirmed that Allied Healthcare will provide the care for those living in the new development, designed to support independent living in the north of the town.
Chris Milburn, Hanover’s director of customer services, said: “We are rightly proud of this new addition to our portfolio of properties in Moray, which demonstrates our long-standing and continuing commitment to the area.
“There has been a fantastic response so far and we are very confident that there will be high demand for the new properties.”
Steve Gotts, registered manager at Allied Healthcare, said: “We have only recently become part of this project, but recruitment is already well under way.
“We are seeing a great deal of interest from all over Moray and are delighted by the number of applicants who are new to the care sector, as well as those with a great deal of experience looking forward to delivering specialist care.”
