Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is to make a sensational return to Scottish football after agreeing a deal to become Hibs’ new manager.
He is expected to be officially confirmed as successor to Alan Stubbs later today.
The former Celtic captain missed out to Brendan Rodgers for a return to his old club but was said to be keen on a return to Scottish football after speculation of a move to Hibs first materialised.
Lennon is understood to have been attracted by Hibs’ position in the Europa League this season following their first Cup success for 114 years.
Chief Executive Leeann Dempster has vowed to give her new coach a war chest to go out and secure success.
In an impassioned address to supporters, she said: “I plan to give our new head coach the means necessary to win the Championship. It is easier to this with the fans beside me.
“We know you can help us get there to give us the best possible chance of winning the Championship outright and returning to the top flight where this club belongs.”
Ex-Celtic and Bolton coach Garry Parker has been tipped to his assistant at Easter Road.
